Report of the mdDANeurodev Consortium Meeting in Utrecht, The Netherlands, December 2 and 3, 2009:
Our first mdDANeurodev Consortium Meeting was a big success. We began Wednesday December 2 with the symposium ‘How to build the Dopamine System’. This free symposium was intended for all interested scientists and clinicians in the Netherlands and also for members of the labs within our consortium. It was held at the UMC Utrecht from 10:30 to 18:30h. The presentations were given by international top scientists, the partners in our consortium. About 97 people registered. On the day we counted 77 people who originated from 20 different labs. Prof. Dr. Oscar Marin was unfortunately forbidden by doctors to travel due to back problems. The presentations were interesting and the discussions lively. The dinner of the PI’s was nice and fruitful. Past, present and future work related topics were discussed. The dinner of the lab workers within the consortium was also a success. At the Consortium Meeting December 3 our Dutch Legal & Financial National Contact Point at SenterNovem/EG-Liasion and our Scientific Officer from the EU gave presentations. Work progress and future possibilities were discussed. Also agreed upon was to share information at the restricted part of our consortium website about lab material present in our labs.
